   Distance is your friend. If someone pulls a knife and you draw a gun you keep the distance and put a .357 hollowpoint in the bastards head. Here is something I recomend you try. get a buddy and work up a good sweat.    I agree with that, sort of. There are some situations you may face where simple SURRENDER is not an option. Guns and knives can come out a lot more than just during robberies.

   Besides a gun is nowhere NEAR a knife-repellent. Up-close knife vs gun, the shooter will probably lose.

    As for Knife fighitng well its always been my philophisy (I know I can’t spell) If you didn’t bring a gun to a knife fight then you don’t really want to win. But in any situation if your mugged at knife or gun point the best thing to do is stay calm keep them calm and hand over your wallet. you can always cancel a credit card.

    There are many schools of defensive tactics. Now I’ve learned two ways to disarm a firearm from an individual in close quarters like that. Neither of them involve grabing the slide. You want control of the hand. With control of the hand you can form a decent wrist lock and jam the muzzle of the weapon into your assailents neck.
